The famous Trakia Ensemble inspired the guests and participants of Expo 2020 with emblematic and original live performances. The ensemble participates in the world expo by invitation of the Bulgarian pavilion as part of the country’s cultural program. For its performance in front of broad international audience, the ensemble has prepared a rich repertoire of musical performances, including “Bublu pee”, “Stefan si konche sedlae”, “Proviknala se dranganka”, “Yano Yanke, vaklo agne”, “Trendafilino, Kalino” and “Koi sha dodi na nashata medjia?” – spectacular performances that attracted many viewers and fans of the Bulgarian pavilion. “Trakia” Ensemble was founded in 1974 and for nearly 50 years preserves and distributes Bulgarian folklore from all ethnographic areas of the country through innovative music and dance forms. The performances are an opportunity for the spectators to feel the Bulgarian spirit and to experience unforgettable moments throughout the unique songs, costumes, and dances.

The ensemble, with its deep roots of Bulgarian folklore, has been an innovator in musical performances uniting and connecting traditions and cultures of the past and present. The combination of traditional folklore dance and songs throughout different times and eras disclose in a unique way with the theme “Mobility” – the area where the Bulgarian pavilion is located.

The performances of the Trakia Ensemble are also a cultural reflection of the motto of Expo 2020 Dubai: “Connecting minds, we create the future.” More than 190 countries from all over the world are participating in the international exhibition, with a total area of ​​438 hectares divided into three main sectors – “Mobility”, “Opportunity” and “Sustainability”.

Expo 2020 Dubai is the world’s largest universal exhibition, organized for the first time in the region of the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia. The event takes place from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022, and is the most business-oriented exhibition in history so far. Our country has prepared a rich six-month program, which will include more artists, investors, business representatives, and lecturers from prestigious universities.
