Bulgaria participates in “Expo 2020 Dubai” as part of the subtheme: “Mobility – connecting people, goods, and ideas.” The country’s strategic geographical location, transport corridors, access to markets, cultural influences, and high technological capacity, make the Mobility subtheme a perfect fit for Bulgaria.

Amongst the first guests to visit the Bulgarian Pavilion was Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, Commissioner General of the Vatican Pavilion, who was accompanied by representatives from the Vatican library. The guests showed great interest in the modern look and cultural heritage of our country and noted that the impressive videos in the pavilion perfectly showcase the archaeological, architectural, and historical landmarks of Bulgaria, creating an immersive experience.

Cardinal Ravasi and the other guests were highly intrigued and impressed by the replicas of the Panagyurishte and Varna Gold treasures displayed at the exhibition floor of the Bulgarian Pavilion.

During the first day of the Bulgarian participation in Expo 2020 Dubai, Bulgaria managed to trigger investment interest from a leading Emirati company securing startup funding.
