Major Olympic achievements, rich cultural heritage and influential folklore are the elements that will showcase our country on the National Days of Bulgaria taking place from Sunday, February 6th until Wednesday, February 9th, 2022 at Expo 2020 Dubai.

The participation of the Rhythmic Gymnastics Ensemble of Bulgaria, also known as the ‘’diamond team’’, is going to be the jewel in the crown of the National Days’ program.

The Bulgarian ensemble who won gold at the XXXII Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo last year, will wow the audiences of Expo 2020 with its performances on February 8th and 9th at 7 pm, at the Expo Sports Arena.
Along with our girls, the gymnasts from “Aspire gymnastics Dubai” will showcase the local talent.

The Bulgarian pavilion is excited to welcome Simona Dyankova, Madeleine Radukanova, Laura Traats, Stefani Kiryakova, and Erika Zafirova. It turned out that our Olympic medalists have a lot of fans and admirers amongst the pavilions of the other participating countries, so it comes as no surprise that the girls received a personal invitation for a VIP visit to the Italian pavilion during their stay in Dubai.

Bulgaria’s intangible cultural heritage is the second underlying theme of the “Days of Bulgaria” at Expo 2020 Dubai. Dr. Irena Todorova, Executive Director of the Regional Center – Sofia, UNESCO, will visit the Bulgarian pavilion on February 6th at 6 pm. The Regional Center is one of seven in the world and covers 17 countries in Southeast Europe. Its mission is to promote active cooperation in the field of intangible cultural heritage at national, regional and international levels.

The magic of the Bulgarian folklore is the final highlight of Bulgaria’s presentation in the thematic days of Expo 2020.

A special guest is the folklore trio TRIGAIDA, which will give a concert on February 9th at 8 pm at the Dubai Millennium Amphitheater.

The TRIGAIDA project combines the talent, creativity and experience of three established musicians on the Bulgarian music scene, namely: Georgi Marinov – Jorge (Oratnitza, Drums and Bagpipes, The Groovin Pipers), Ivan Shopov (also known as Balkansky, Cooh), and Asya Pincheva (Oratnitza, Cosmic Voices from Bulgaria)

TRIGAIDA intertwines Bulgarian folklore with the modern aesthetics of electronic music. Their debut album “ELATE” has a modern sound and reveals a new reading of the Bulgarian musical heritage, using folklore motifs and songs as the basis of their compositions.

Elektrick Me have prepared unique and inspiring multimedia for the TRIGAIDA concert in Dubai. It combines elements of abstract art with landscapes of Bulgarian nature, thus, making the impact of the Bulgarian folklore even stronger and more magical.

In 2018, Elektrick Me won second place at the largest 3D Mapping festival in the world – Art Vision Festival in Moscow.
