The second month after the opening of Expo 2020 Dubai is over, and the news from the Bulgarian pavilion are becoming more and more interesting.

His Excellency the Minister of State of the UAE Sheikh Shakbout bin Nahyan spoke with the director of the Bulgarian pavilion Dimitar Dimitrov and the business team. Together they discussed the organization of a future business forum, which will include representatives of Bulgaria and the UAE. His Excellency was absolutely fascinated by the replicas of the Panagyurishte and Varna gold treasures.

Another pleasant surprise was the visit of chef Silvena Rowe. She shared her positive impressions of Bulgaria’s participation at the world exhibition and posted a video of the pavilion in her social media profiles.

The business conference “Cities of the Future” was successfully completed within the third thematic week of Expo 2020 Dubai: Urban & Rural Development.

The conference was attended by experts in the field of energy, ecology and business development from Japan, Russia, Slovenia, Nigeria, Brazil, Uganda, Botswana, and many other countries.
The event ended with a wonderful concert by the mandolin quintet “Sofia” on the Sea stage.

The President of the Karate Federation Alexei Petrov, together with athletes from the national team, visited the Bulgarian pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.

The athletes were in Dubai for the World Karate Championship, where Ivet Goranova, the Bulgarian Olympic champion from Tokyo 2020, won a bronze medal.

Princesses Helene Olga Lydia Tamara Maria of Yugoslavia and Tania Sophie de Bourbon Parme visited the Bulgarian pavilion. They showed particular interest in the golden treasures and the Bulgarian rose oil products, exhibited in the pavilion.

The ladies were also impressed by the beautiful Bulgarian nature presented on the video walls.

The Bulgarian pavilion entered the weekend program of Abu Dhabi TV. A reporter from the morning block presented Bulgaria from the pavilion, and Galina Raycheva, executive director of the consortium – organizer of the Bulgarian participation, was a guest on the show.

On November 22, His Excellency Bogdan Kolarov, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, organized an art event to which he invited the Bulgarian community. The famous Bulgarian pianist Ani Gigova took part in the “Night of Arts”. The audience in the Bulgarian pavilion enjoyed not only her concert but also the photo exhibition “Faces of Bulgaria in the Emirates” by Anna Shehtova.

The cultural calendar of the Bulgarian pavilion entertained the guests of Expo 2020 Dubai with a rich variety of high-class performers.

The month began with the visit of the young kaval player Georgi Dobrev, who excited the audience of Expo 2020 Dubai with an incredible concert on the Sea stage. The visitors of the Bulgarian pavilion had the pleasure to enjoy his performances for a whole week.

The virtuoso pianist Georgi Cherkin came to Dubai for just three days and gave multiple concerts in the Bulgarian pavilion. It was an honor for us that regardless of his busy schedule filled with concerts in Bulgaria and abroad, he accepted our invitation to be part of the cultural program of the Bulgarian pavilion.
